Club Report (February 2023)

Our Bargain Centre reopened on 4th February, and we were delighted to have good weather to welcome many new faces as customers.
Our takings on the day were around $1800 and we have decided to direct these funds to The Lions Club of Mannum for their efforts in flood relief…. we will consider a further donation to a River Murray club/s up river once we have done some further communication with them.

Secretary Barry, who convenes our sales of Christmas Cakes, reported another very successful year with most sales taking place from our stall at Burnside Village Shopping Centre.
John Dunn, our convenor of Aged Care Digital Imaging, has indicated that he will be looking to retiring into the coming year….we are busy in establishing a plan to cover his most valuable loss .We invite all clubs who may have an interest in tapping into John’s wealth of knowledge and experience to make contact with us…..it is not a difficult task and just needs one person from each club to take on some responsibility.

We will be losing The Arkaba as our venue for meetings over coming months and we are endeavouring to find a suitable alternative…. they are undergoing major renovations. Contact President Rob for further details if you are looking to attend.

Otherwise, our major work now is managing the large amounts of donated goods we receive weekly at our Bargain Centre…. we have developed a flier which has been printed courtesy of Lion Jack Batty; this will soon be delivered to some 4000 homes in our local area giving information about Lions and the things we do.
